On Saturday, October 15, 2016, SIMS and Ethel Phillips Elementary School once again teamed up to support literacy in Sacramento. Club members, friends, and “Bean,” the service-dog-in-training, joined the school’s principal Danny Hernandez, teachers, kids, parents, and friends to walk together in the 3rd Annual Walk 4 Literacy. The event, hosted by the Sacramento Public Library Foundation, 916 Ink, and Teach for America, raises much needed funds for literacy projects in our community. Over 1000 people participated in the event this year. SIMS is proud to be an active partner in this Literacy Coalition.
