Mission

We Are Soroptimist.

A global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Providing women and girls with access to education is the most effective way to help them reach their full potential and live their dreams. When women and girls are educated, they have opportunity, choice and power to make healthy decisions for themselves and their families.

Soroptimists in numbers

  • There are approximately 80,000 Soroptimists in about 130 countries and territories, they are broken into 5 federations
  • Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) is the federation that governs clubs in North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim, totaling more than 30,000 members
  • There are 29 regions across the Americas
  • Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Sacramento (SIMS) is part of the Sierra Nevada Region this region has 6 districts
  • SIMS is one of 8 Soroptimist clubs in the Sacramento area (District 3)
